BAY OF PLENTY TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND TO TE PUKE In the first round of the Bay of Plenty Badminton Tournament, between Te Puke and Otakiri. at Te Puke on Wednesday night. Te Puke secured 9 games against tlicir opponents' 3. The games resulted: — Men's Doubles: Te Puke 3, beat Otakiri 1. Ladies' Doubles: Te Puke 4, beat Otakiri 0. Mixed Doubles: Te Puke 4, beat Otakiri 0. Total: Te Puke 9, Otakiri 3. The second series will be played against Tauranga, at Tauranga and will be completed by 6th July. Then in rotation against Whakatane at Whakatane, Ilotorua at Rotorua, and finally Awakeri at Te Puke. The team with the greater number of wins will then piay the Waikato team. Tauranga had the champion team last year, with Te Puke run-ners-up.
