WAIOTAHI MEETING The monthly meeting of the Waio talii Women's Institute Avas lielil on June 12. Mrs L. V. Looney presided over a good attendance. Tlve Aspirations were read by Mrs White, and two new members, Mrs Flint, transferred from Waimana W. 1., and Mrs H. Toonc, were welcomed. A letter was received from the matron of the Opotiki Hospital, thanking members for the egg donated. It was decided to support the suggestions that the Women's Institutes should provide an ambulance and lend the endoAvment fund to the Government. Nominations for the Dominion executive were discussed. Members were asked to donate toys to be used for entertaining children during meetings The Roll Call, "Children's Funny Sayings," pioved very amusing, and a group drawing competition was entertaining. Mrs Wells £'ave an interesting golden thread ou "Pioneering Days" A "brain fag" flower competition was won by Mrs Wilson, ami Mrs T. Burke gave a song which Avas greatly enjoyed. Competitions for the 'month resulted: Best; Bloom, Mrs Hill ,1, Mrs P. Looney 2. Best Vegetable: Mrs Snell 1 Mrs Hill 2. Vase llowers for effect: Mrs Snell 1, Mrs Burke 2. Melon jam: Mrs Snell 1, Miss B. Du Pontet 2. Afternoon tea Avas served by the hostesses, Mesdames J. Anderson, p. Looney and A. Clayton. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
