PRODUCTION COUNCIL MEMBERS SURVEY OF DISTRICT At tlie last meeting of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Primary Production. Council it was suggested that members, being engaged on work of a national character, should rcceivc benzine coupons for their attendance at meetings. The matter was again brought up, when at Monday's meeting the secretary read a letter received from the National Council. This advised that the National Coun cil had been in touch with the Controller, who had stated that the; matter was one for the local fuel authority. It was agreed that the secretary should make application to the Con troll or at Whakatanc for coupons for members of the Council The subject was also raised after the Eastern Bay of Plenty had been zoned to permit of canvassing by members of the recently formed Maize Committee, set up to carryout the Government's wishes in regard to increased growing in this district. The members of this com-' mittee would be carrying out a national task,, one speaker pointed out, arid some of them would be risking the supply granted for business purposes. It was resolved that contact be made with the control-* ling authority at Whakatane to secure an allowance for those engaged in the survey.
