WEDDING BELLS

WATSON—LUKE A wedding of interest circle of friends in the Whakatjyie district waS that of Alma, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. L, Luke, Awakeri, to Alexander, third son of Mr and Mrs G. Watson, of Elgin, Scotland. The marriage took place quietly at the residence of the bride's parents on June 3rd,, the Rev. J. H. Starnes officiating. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of valley green crepe vionnette with hat to tone and rust coloured accessories. She carried a bouquet of autumn shaded chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Norma Luke, sister of the bride, who was frocked in mustard coloured crepe Romaine with brown, accessories. She carried a posy in brown and gold tonings. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Eric Cleaver as best man. Following the ceremony the reception was held in a marquee on the lawn, where Mrs Luke received her guests wearing a green ensemble and carrying a posy of crimson berries and leaves. - The bride and bridegroom later left by car for a motor tour of the | north.
