WINTER SHOW CONCLUDES
GRAND PROCESSION AND DISPLAY RECORD CROWDS IN TOWN All roads led to Whakatane on Saturday when People's Day, the final stage of the Winter Show, took place in perfect weather. The crowd in town was described as a record one for any past Show and the interest in the procession and subsequent judging parade was phenomenal. Thousands thronged the Strand and watched the march past of the Citizens' and Pipe Bands, the children's fancy section and the decorated vehicles. In the Show itself the •outside areas and the exhibition hall were crowded from early ait •ernoon .and the gate 1 realised a record figure. The evening session saw another large influx of visitors and once again the Showgrounds were the scene of colour and animation. The final variety •concert programme was once ag£. in well attended by a large and
