HEADS AREA

THE RATING QUESTION ORDER-IN-COUNCIL DELAYED A letter was received by the ough Council from the Under-Sec-retary, Department of Internal Affairs, advising that difficulty in obtaining some property descriptions had caused a delay in the drafting of the Order-in-Council necessary to give authority for the inclusion of the Heads area in the Borough. It was also stated that the Order-In-Council would not be issued until after the County rates had been struck. 'This would avoid confusion and an adjustment could be made between the County and the Borough Councils. His Worship the Mayor said that ratepayers at the Heads would be rated on a County basis and the Borough could then reach an agreement with the County.
