♦ — HAMILTON SALE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd. report:— Sheep: At Frankton yards to-day a full yarding of fat sheep came forward to meet keen competition:' at prices on a par with last week's advanced rates. Fat lambs also sold freely at schedule values. Cattle: Only a medium yarding of fat cattle was penned, with values for ox beef remaining steady at last week's rates. Cow and heifer beef showed 1 a slight improvement on - late quotations. A consignment 'of choice quality medium Polled Angus cows and heifers from Mr J. B. Stewart, Tauwhare, realised £6 12s to £9 2s6'd. A short yarding of fat calves realised firmer values than late sales. A large yarding of boner cattle for which bidding was and late values maintained. Four Polled Angus bulls donated to the Patriotic Fund by Mr Clive Mat- 1 thews, Hamilton, realised £27 the lot. Pigs: A medium yarding of fafi pigs and a light entry of stores anil weaners was offered. Competition for baconers and porkers was steady and values fully up to last week's quotations. No topweight baconers were penned. The demand for stores and weaners was also keen, late values resulting. Quotations: — Sheep: Heavy prime wethers 32 s--6d to 345; medium 30s to 325; light 27s 6d to 295; prime B.F. muttonj 26s Gd to 28s Gd; heavy fat ewes 22s 6d to 255; medium 18s Gd to 20s fid;light 15s to 17s; heavy fat lambs.. 26s 6d to 28s 6d; medium 21s to 23s; A light fat lambs 18s to 20s. Cattle: Medium prime Polled Angus heifers and cows £8 2s 6d to £9 • 2S fid; light prime P.A. heifers £6 6d to-S.l 2s; fat cows £6 14s to £C> 19s; Medium £5 5s to £5 18s; heavy boner cows £i 2s; medium boner cows £3 4s to £3 19s; lighter £21 2s to £2 18s; best runners £3 14s to £& 16s; others 36s to £2 Bs.
