| FAREWELL AFTERNOON (B2aeon Correspondent) A most pleasant time Avas spent in the Waimana Hall last Wednes- , day afternoon, where many friends of Mrs Davics, Nukuhou, met to , bid her farewell. The afternoon had been arranged by the Women's Institute. The function opened with the singing of "God Defend New Zealand." The hall was prettily decorated with autumn tinted floAVers and berries. The clay was extremely cold,, so all danced a Clisin Medley to get warm, and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. A sketch entitled "For Women Only," was we'll presented by Mrs F. .Savage, Mrs C. Wylde and Mrs John Addison. A musical parcel was won by Mrs E. A. and a competition arranged by Mrs Burnett, "Ring Your Own Gift," was most popular. After a dainty tea had been served by members of the Glee Club and Gardening Circle, Mrs N. Clark, president of the Institute, presented Mrs Davies with a beautiful fanshaped bouquet in autumn tinted flowers and ail Institute spoon with all fellow members good Avishes, in her neAV home. Mrs Clark said hoAV Mrs Davies would be missed from the Institute, it being our loss and some one else's gain. Mrs Burnett presented the guest ' with a beautiful copper fire screen from all the residents of Waimana and Nukuhou North, A\ 7 ith their best Avishes, and Mrs F. Savage on behalf of the Glee Club gave Mrs DaA'ies a gift, and Mrs John Addison on behalf of the Gardening Circle members, presented the guest with a book entitled "Green Fingers." Mrs DaA-ies in a neat speech thanked all for the lovely afternoon and beautiful gifts, Avere much appreciated. Community singing followed, the pianists for the afternoon were Mrs Wylde Snr. and Mrs King. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem, closed the function.
