CATTLE DOG TRIALS
THE TE TEKO CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD The itnnual general meeting of the Te Teko Cattle Dog Trial Club was held on Wednesday evening 22nd May. Mr C. Eivers presided. Before commencing the business a motion of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late Mr A. ; Corbett, one of the club's esteemed and strongest supporters. The balance sheet showed the Club to be in A very sound position and it was decided to hold the trials as usual this year. The date decided was the 19th Jtine and as this is the twenty-first anniversary of the Club's fixture it is intended to do everything possible to make the coming *of age meeting one of the best. The election c.f pfficers resulted: Patron: Mr F. W. Doidge, M.P., re-elected; president: Mr C. F. Eivers, re-elected; vice-presidents: Mr F. B. Cutler, Mr W. McCracken, Mr J. Plamus, Mr C. and H. Birch, Mr R. Basket t, Mr W. J. Sullivan, Mr R. Glen, Mr J. Johnstone, Mr A. G. Allan and Mrs T. B. Dunderdale; treasurers, Mr C. F. Eivers and Mr D. Macdonald; secretary: Mr J. B. Thomas, re-elected; judges, Dog Events: Mr C. McKenzie; Horse events: Mr J. Jamieson and Mr W. MeCracken; Timekeeper: Mr R. Harty; Dog Steward: Mr A. Jamieson; Gatekeepers: Mr T. Melrose and Mr T. Edwards. It was decided to leave the catering and the conducting of the dance in the capable hands of the Te Teko branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union. The follfAving donations were received with acclamation: A rug from Mrs T. B. Dunderdale. A sheep and a turkey from Mr D. Macdonald. |
