AID TO FUNDS
BRIDGE PARTY HELD FUNCTION AT WHAKATANE HOTEL Mrs A. Hayter of the Whakatanc Hotel was hostess at a delightful bridge party on Monday night in aid of Red Cross funds. Mrs Hayter received her guests in a well cut black frock with oriental trimmings. The bridge was played in the upstairs "lounge which Avas decorated with Iceland poppies and late Stocks, the whole making a splendid background for the evening dresses. A savoury supper was served downstairs where the lounge was warm and comfortable -with a big open ftre. At the close of the party Mrs Hayter was thanked for the generosity by Mrs Pearse„ who said that due to her efforts the Red Cross funds would benefit by £7. Prizes were presented by Mrs Hayter to Mrs Bullard highest lady's score, and to Mr N. Carter highest gentlemen':,. Those present were: Mr and Mrs Jos Boon, Mr and Mrs D. Boon, Mr and Mrs E.
