PETROL FROM WATER AGAIN

In a recent bankruptcy inquiry that mysterious powder which converts ordinary water into motor fuel cropped up again. The case was reported in the Daily Mail. It was stated that a Cardiff motor dealer and a wine merchant were completely satisfied, after two tests, that water could be turned into petrol, not only that but the inventor showed that it would make wine out of water, and when the solution was applied to a one dollar bill it turned it into one of 500 dollars. £2000 was the price named for the for-, inula of the powder, which was reduced by a little bargaining to £1800. Dirt chap at the price, we should say—if it worked. Comment by the Official Receiver: "Did you not realise that this was a variation of the confidence trick?"
