APPEAL FOR SICK AND WOUNDED FUND OBJ ECTfVE ENSURED Though all returns have not yet been made it is certain that the figure of £312, worked out on. ,a population basis as being Wha katane's .contribution to the Sick and Wounded Fund will be reached as the result of the magnificent response made to the appeal for funds. Canvassers' lists have to be handed in to the Secretary of the Executive Committee, Mr D. V. Sannders, by 12.30 p:m. ten day, so that figures are not yet finalised, but the amount in hand ensures that the objective wilt be attained. MEETING TO-NIGHT ■ Members of the Whakatane Men's Patriotic Committee are reminded of the meeting which is scheduled for 8 o'clock this evening in the Borough Chambers. Tliis meeting is important and a full attendance is requested.
