TOP PRICE 200 GUINEAS. 14 FEMALES AVERAGE 11SGNS There was a large attendance of breeders from all parts of the North Island at the unreserved dispersal of the Beechlands Jersey Stud, the i property of Messrs A. Moreland and Sons, held at the farm, Victoria Road, Cambridge, on May 21st. The top price at 200 guineas was paid by Mr W. J. Chynoweth, Walton, for the nine year old V.H.C. cow "Beechlands Perfect Queen" — a daughter of the imported sire "Coronation Oxford Raleigh.'* Mr C. J. Corbett, Inglewood, was the purchaser of "Beechlands Fairy Sunray" V.H.C. at 180gns. This cow has won 57 first prizes and championships and although ten years old is considered to be the greatest show cow in the herd. "Beechlands Fair Countess" H.C. a nine year old daughter of Fairy Flag's Raleigh (Imp) was purchased by Mr J. Jamieson, Masterton, at 160gns. (Beechlands Nobly Born—Beechlands Perfect Queen V.H.C.) W. J. Chynoweth, 135gns. The top price for the 2 year incalf heifers was paid by Mr W. T.. Luxton, Matangi, at 120gns for "Beechlands Nice Flag" (Brace Nice Ltd (Imp)—Beechlands Summer Lass H.C., C.O.R. S99lbs fat at 2 years I (world champion); Beechlands Fairy Flower H.C. The 5 j r ear old bull Flag's Chief Raleigh (Fairy Flag's Raleigh— Beechlands Lady Raleigh V.H.C.) was purchased by Mr W. T. Luxton, Matangi, at 50gns. The 117 lots offered averaged 10 guineas. Bay of Plenty breeders were operating freely and thirteen lots w 7 ere purchased by them. The sale was conducted by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. with Mr C. E. Robertson, sales manager and Mr J. Broad, auctioneer.
