THIRTEEN MORE PASS FIT MEN FOR BURNHAM The following is a list of men who passed fit at the Medical Board held on Saturday the 18th-:— James Edward Gardner, . James George Simpson, Albert Edgar Sun-> kel, John Joseph Butler, John Alexander Caulfield, Maxwell Athol Haigh, Wehi Tekakara, Tu Pioioi Rangiaho, Claude Uatuku, Tewi Tunoa Roihana, Taua McLean, William Alexander McKenzie, Hugh Couller Bishop. The following men entrained for Burnham camp on Tuesday fast: A.> W. G. Head, P. L. Moore, G.Moore G. C. Moore, K. Lyon, C. LeComte, R. Lovell, E. C. Donnelly, T. H. Dodson, J. D. Robson, R .Tew, E. L. Day, B. Lethwick, R. McNee, H. M. Wilson. — -a CREDIT TO BEHAVIOUR OF TROOPS THIRD ECHELON MEN Captain H. Hauseler, who had charge of the Third Echelon men. who travelled to Papakura last week from this district has nothing but praise for the manner in which the men conducted themselves during the journey. The men, he said, had a long journey to make, and thus had evcjry opportunity of playing up a bit, but he was pleased to be able to say that the behaviour was on the whole excellent. The draft assembled at Papakura station and marched intoi camp, where Captain Hauseler had; the pleasure of hearing them de-4 scribed by headquarters, as 'a parti-i cularly fine body of men.* QUOTA MAINTAINED PAEROA DISTRICT FURNISHES 500 It is interesting to note that the Third Echelon drew 500 men from the Paeroa military area. This number has ensured a continuation tof the district's full quota, and residents of the Bay of Plenty may be proud of the fact that this section, of the country is worthily represented in the three drafts which have been recruited in New Zealand for service overseas. MORE DONATIONS SICK AND WOUNDED FUND The secretary of the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and tshte New Zealand Red Cross Society acknowledges the following amounts paid lO the Sick, Wounded and tressed Fund since May 12: Mr n. Runnerstrum £30, Caledonian Society £7, Proceeds Shop 16th £13 2s 9d» Proceeds Dance 18th £17 15s 4d. A number of small donations have been included in the shop and danca proceeds.
