FIRST AID

ST. JOHN AMBULANCE CLASSES PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES The St. John Ambulance is continuing the series of classes in first aid and at that held on Tuesday evening the certificates of those successful in the recent examination were presented. In making the presentation, Mr A. J. Canning, chairman of the Association, congratulated the successful candidates, and said that the pass obtained spoke well for Dr. Fletcher Cole's tuition and the application and enthusiasm of the members. Certificates were presented to Mesdames M. Larsen, D. C. Petty, A. S. Armstrong, Cl Bishop, B. Cowie, E. D. Hooper, B- Norman, B. Hooper, Misses M. Melville, L. • D. Petty, J. and H. Dunstan, J. Hall K. Trainer and M. Simpson. Messrs L. R. Roddick, B. M. Martin, S. S. Bishop, A. D. O'Rourke, M.i A. Rixon, J. H. Carr, O .M. Hamill, J. H. Delves; A. Atkinson, S. N. Armstrong,. F .A. Hogan, R. C. Ilill, J. J. Searing, B._ A. Watts, T. J. O'Flaherty.. Vouchers (2nd Year): Messrs R. Ferry, F". H. Wederell, J. F. J. Morice. Medallions (3rd Year): Messrs J. L. Clouglier and S. F. Miller. The ambulance purchased by funds raised" by the Association will arrive in Whakatane within a week. The garage at the hospital has been prepared for its accommodation and members of the Association have volunteered.' to drive the vehicle whenever- needed.
