RED CROSS SOCIETY

SUCCESSFUL CONECRT AT TANEATUA A very successful concert was held at Taneatua last week in aid. of the Red Cross Funds. There was a large and appreciative audience and each of the many artists was enthusiastically encored. Most of the items were given by an Opotiki party and they were assisted by artists from Taneatua and Whakatane. The orchestra Avas Mrs Sinclair and Messrs Shaw, Young and Pearce and items were presented by Miss V, Thompson (vocal), Mr Pearce (instrumental), Mrs Phillips (vocal), Miss Merry (lap dance), Mrs G. Black (vocal), Mrs Phillips and Mrs Charlton (duet), Mrs Duff (vocal), Messrs Stevenson and Holmes and Mrs Charlton (vocal), Mrs Sinclair, Mrs Larmer and Mr Shaw (instru-> mental), and Mr C. Walker (monologues) . Pianists for the evening were Mesdames Sinclair, Holmes, Martin, Peebles and Miss Merrie. Mr A. McGougan thanked all for their assistance, especially the Opotiki party who offered their services i to supply the programme and came over at their own expense.
