Mr and Mrs Jerrain, of Nukuhou North, are visiting the Exhibition in Wellington. Second-Lieutenant A. G. Hultquist expects to arrive in Whakatane on, Monday night for a short stay 4 He will leave for duty on Wednesday. Mr G. McL. Wallace, ManagingDirector of Messrs McL. Wall'ace Ltd., and Mr N. V. Wallace and Mr B. L. Whineray, also of that firm, left for Auckland yesterday after visiting Whakatane. The well known business of E. Gibberd's, men's outfitters, has changed hands, the newv owner ing Mr G. A. Dawson* of Opotiki. The manager in the new interest will be Mr S. B. Carter, formerly of Cambridge. Mr Gibberd, for many years in business in Whakatane, intends to retire and live locally. Mr Ray Thorn, of the Social Security (Whakatane) Department,, is to join the staff of Messrs Loan and Mercantile Ltd", and his place will be filled by Mr Garth Morgan, of the Social' Security Head Office, Wellington. Mr Garth Morgan is a son of Mr T. Morgan, Clerk of Court and Registrar at Whakatane.
