Introducing Universal's successor to Deanna Durbin, little Gloria Jean, 11 year old soprano . . . Jusjtf over three years ago Deanna walked into Universal studios in Hollywood, played in a picture called "Three Smart Girls,' v and found her self among the stars. Gloria Jeai* walked into the same studios all because Joe Pasternak, producer of the Deanna Durbin pictures, happened to take a holiday in New York. He saw Gloria, heard her sing, and had her sent to Hollywod for five month's grooming to see how she would take to acting. GRAND To-night, "Topper," Cary Grant, Constance Bennett Roland Young, Billie Burke. Record seasons in the four centres indicate that this MGM comedy is really something outstand ing.
