RED CROSS WORK
OHOPE AUXILIARY BRANCH! The fortnightly meeting of the Ohope Auxiliary branch of the Whakatane Red Cross Society was held recently. There was a good attend-* ance. Work done by the ladies since the last meeting, the knitting of ! balaclavas and socks and sewing, was handed in, the standard being excellent. More knitting and sewing work was distributed. Seven new members were enrolled. Discussion centred on the question of raising money and it was decided to hold a "Bring and Buy" stall at the next meeting, to be held on Tuesday, April 30tli. Those in charge will be Mesdames Beamish, D. Jones and E. Robinson.» A donation towards the funds was received from Mrs W. Davies, Putaruru R.D. and this was greatly appreciated. The work dene by this auxiliary branch of the Red Cross Society is excellent and the support accorded has been outstanding.
