STRUGGLE FOR TRONDHJEM VON RIBBENTROP'S WHITE BOO! The struggle for Trondhjem has reached a critical stage, with the Allied forces holding two important railway junctions and the enemy attacking ini force. Events are moving rapidly On Saturday a heavy attack sgainst the Allied forces- waqf driven off with considerable enemy losses. The Supreme War Council met on Saturday and a communique issued after the meeting stated that members had agreed on several points raised by the present stage of the war. It is stated that Herr von Ribbentrop held a conference with neutral diplomats and journalists in Berlin on Saturday and presented a White Book aimed at showing that Britain was prepared to invade Norway when Germany attacked that countrjr. The White Book alleges that orders for the British Expeditionary Force's move on Norway were issued two days before the German invasion. It also states that the minefields laid by the British were for the purpose of safeguarding the Expeditionary Force. The White Bool: adds that the British invasion was planned by spy work in Norway and that plans had been found on a British Brigade commander captured at Hamar. The London reply is that if orders had been given to an Expeditionary Force two days before the German invasion, Allied help would have reached Norway more quickly than it did. Further, that if the minefields had been laid to safeguard the British troops in such an adventure, Britain would hardly have declared the laying. In regard to Ribbentrop's last point, it is denied that any British Brigadier or member of a Brigade Staff has been captured in Norway. Germany alleges that Britain has bombed Oslo. The Queen Mary, 84,000 tons Cunard liner, and the 45,000 ton Aqui-< tania have reached Capetown.
