NEW WORLD ORDER

TERRITORIAL READJUSTMENT "The treaty of peace that is to come will not only provide for political and territorial readjustments; it must lay the foundations of a better economic and social order for the world. The declaration in the Constitution of the International Labour Organisation that world peace must be based on social justice remains and Avill remain true. It carries forward Albert Thomas' dictum 'If you wish for peace, prej pare for justice.' The statesmen who will bear the heavy responsibility of fixing the terms of peace must have a full knowledge of the economic and social conditions of the world and of the Avorkers who collaborate in the organisation of production. The work of the International Lal> our Office, which is carried on un j der the triple control of representatives of Governments' employers' organisations, and workers' organisations, will supply these statesmen with objective information on labour problems and the needs of the workers, and thus the office will be in a position to play its rightful part in paving the way to an extension of international labour and social law, effectively reconciling the rights and obligations of individuals, groups and national communities. — "International Labour Office Review."
