Advice has been i eceived by his parents, Mr and Mrs A. J. Canning, from Mr Maynard Canning, who is ~ serving in an auxiliary cruiser* the "Dunvegan Castle." In a letter posted at Dukar, on the African coastj Mr Canning says that he is well and that for some time the Castle" was engaged on convoy duty in the waters around Ireland. ENGAGEMENT Mr and Mrs Harold H. Finn, Francis Street, Whakatane, announce the engagement of their second daughter, Barbara Edna, to Philip Lennox, second son of Mr S. A. Moore, Auckland.
