BOY SCOUTS

WHAKATANE TROOP NOTES Organised into four patrols, the local troop is showing kqen interest* as evidenced by an increasing membership and good attendances at the . Weekly meetings. The following Scouts recently qualified for the Tenderfoot Badge* having duly passed the required test: Desmond Brockett, George Brabant, Colin Sharman, Wishie Jaram, Barry Brabant, Peter Arn>* stong, Warren Stewart. The Investitive was held under the supervision of D.S.M. Miller. The local Troop has been fortunate to acquire the services of Mr V. Allen who has undertaken As-* sistant Scoutmaster duties. Recent instruction has included morse code, signalling, first aid and Tenderfoot tests. Members of the local Scout Con*mittee paid a visit recently to the Cubs, and were delighted with the way this Troop is being conducted.' The Cub mistresses are doing good work, and doing it very efficiently.
