SCHOOL ACCOMMODATION
The action of the Borough Council in recording its strong objection to the accommodation at the Whakatane school, will find welcome echo in the homes of every parent who has the misfortune to be compelled to send his or her children to be taught under such unspeakable conditions. Feeling would not be running so high were it not for the fact that in spite of the urgent representations made by the local committee there does not appear to be the slightest chance of having the position rectified before the winter. Tonight the annual meeting of householders takes place. Here is aln excellent opportunity for the residents as a body to register their condemnation of the shocking conditions as they exist today at the schooL.This following the recent action of the Borough Council should serve to show the Department that the temper of the parents of Whakatane in matters effecting the welfare of the children cannot be brooked by red tape or perpetual promises which lead to inevitable shelving.
