BOROUGH COUNCIL
MONTHLY MEETING OFFICERS' REPORTS RECEIVED The Whakntane Borough Council met on Monday night when His Worship the Mayor, Mr B, S. Barry * presided over Councillors S. S. Sliapley, A. J. Canning, G„ G. Caisley, J. G. Mulholland, A. Hall„ G. Otley, W. C. S. Armstrong and G. W. Good. After 1 the officers' reports had been received, the Borough Inspec-» tor brought to the attention of the Council the number of children wha are in the habit of riding bicycles on the footpaths. He said he had spoken to a number of them but apparently the warning was wasted. His Worship said there was a definite danger to children as the risk of accidents with cars moving in and out of gateways was- greats In any case, he said, it was a breach, of the By-Laws. Cr Good stated that another breach and danger was the habit of some cyclists of riding six abreast in Commerce Street.
