TWO PROSECUTIONS

COWS ON STREETS The Opotiki Borough Council proceeded against Mr J. H. Hubbard* who was charged with allowing 7 head of cattle to wander in Ford Street. Evidence was given by the traffic inspector, Mr J. H. Morelli A line of 10s and costs 10s was imposed. Mrs A. Tew was also charged with allowing 11 head of cattle to wander in St John Street. Evidence for the defence was given to show that a neighbour had forgotten to nail up a board on a fence which he had taken down while making alterations to a building. The inspector told the bench that he had ')een informed that what had been stated was correct. The case was lismissed.
