YOUNG 'BOY KILLED AT MILL Colin James Bowen, aged 15 years, was accidentally killed at the mill? Mangatoi, on Thursday afternoon. The young lad was engaged as whistle boy at his father's mill, and as far as information can be ascertained from Mr A. Bennett,, who was working with the boy on the skids, the logs skidded and the boy became wedged bctwene them,, his head being crushed. When released he was unconscious. His brother, Ivan, working in the bush close by, was soon on the scene, and realising the serious condition of his brother immediately took him into Dr Randell at Te Puke. Unfortunately death occurred on the journey, the boy's skull having been fractured.
