REPRESENTATION
PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES WHAKATANE MEMBER ON COUNCIL? "We feel that Whakatane is a district which should have direct representation on the Provincial Council,"' said Mr L. W. Goldstein, Deputy-Chairman of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council,, at the meeting on Friday night. At present Whakatane district is" in Zone G (Bay of Plenty) and the Chairman of G Committee is a mem ber of the Council. It was stated by Mr Goldstein that it was the intention of he and his associates to make a recommendation, on return to Auckland, that Whakatane should have a representative on the Council, if the chairman of the meeting (Mr J. L. Burnett) approved. "I think it would meet with the general approval of the district,'* said Mr Burnett, "as the size of the County warrants it."
