THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION
FUNNY INCIDENTS Some time ago I Avas asked by one of our larger members to put on a competition for amusing or funny incidents. Now, Ave did so wonderfully well that I am going *o ajsk you to write a brief account of any funny incident in your life. I was told such a funny one about a boy yesterday that I haven't stopped laughing j r et. Well, let me see Avliat sort of funny stories my members can tell by themselves and the best throe will Avin free picture tickets with Peter the Whaler's compliments. ANOTHER GOOD TRICK Here is a simple trick to catch your friends. First put a marble into a bottle and insert the cork. Ask your chum to get the marble out of the bottle "without smashing it or taking out the cork. He will think its impossible, but it isn't. All you do is to push the cork into the bottle and the marble Avill come out easily. 1 RIDDLE POT When is a soldier like a baby? When he is in arms. What tree is a city in Ireland? Cork. Why is the letter A very important at Christmas time? Because Avithout it our friends would become fiends. Why is a lazy man like a bat? Because they both go to sleep dur ing the daytime. Why is a boiling kettle like a canary? Because they both sing. Why did ihe razorbill raise her bill? So that the sea urchin could see her chin. When AA - as beef at its highest? When the coav jumped over the moon. Which is the grandest word in existence? The universe. Why is a Christmas cake like a carpet? Because it takes a lot of beating.
