SCHOOL COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS
Nominations for district school committees throughout the Dominion close today, while the election of the new committees takes place a week later. In passing it is well to bear in mind the consistently good work which is quietly and efficiently carried out by these organisations. Composed of men (and of more recent years, women too) who are prepared to devote a large portion of their time in the interests of the school children, the local committees are to be commended for the very excellent .manner in which they carry out their self-imposed responsibility. They can in all truth be described as guardians and champions of the rights of the children while undergoing the period of compulsory education as decreed by the laws of our country.
