Mr and Mrs W. Bridger, of Do) main "Road, are leaving for .Wellington,. where they expect to spent about a fortnight. Mrs D. Ingle, of Matangi, Hamilton, is at present staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Mitchell, Waimana. Miss Nora Caraway, of Hamilton* is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs H. O. Caraway, of King Street, before visiting Wellington. At the meeting of the Whakalane Harbour Board on Friday last a motion was carried 4 that the Board express its sympathy with Mr Ruddick and hopes that Mrs Ruddick will be restored to health in the near future." During the welcome to the Rev. J. Pattison at the Knox Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening, Mr read a letter he had received from the Rev. K. J. Watson, who was Knox minister in Whakatane until his appointment as padre with theSecond New Expeditionary Force. Mr said *that his heart was in Whakatane #ricl he was looking forward to the time when he could return and renew friendships.
