Forgetful Youth. An interesting comparison of the relative forgetfulness of young men and women is provided by two lists of articles published in The Outlook, official paper of the Presbyterian Church. The articles were left behind at the annual conference of the youth of the Church at Palmcrston North. Possessions left by the women numbered eighteen, ranging from a purse to a bathing suit, and an unspecified number of coathangers, handkerchiefs,, gloves, stockings, towels, berets, belts and brooches. The men left only seven articles, including a hat and an extension camera trigger. Lose fat without discomfort —build health the Bonkora way. Pleasant, safe. Visit F. G. Whakatane Firm's Contribution. Mr W. Bridger on Friday night confirmed the Wellington announcement that Bridgers' Ltd. had advanced £500 to the Government as a free of interest loan for the duration of the war and six months afterwards. Messrs Bridgers' Ltd. are to be congratulated on their splendid contribution to the war effort. Evidence of Season's End. The Clansman, on her weekly voyage, brought to AVhakatane 170 tons of general cargo, and after unloading sailed on Friday with 3000 boxes of butter and 13 30 crates of cheese. The butter consignments are showing a steady decrease as the dairying season closes and although the cheese cargo w r as slightly lower than in the previous weeks, the ton nage is holding better than in the case of butter.
