PIG SALE
BACONERS £4 5/Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their fortnightly pig sale at Opotiki on Monday, when an extra heavy yarding of nil classes of pigs came forward. Baconers were yarded in average numbers, whilst porkers and stores comprised a large portion. There was the usual representative attendance of export buyers and bacon curers with a representative local attendance. Baeoners of all classes met with exceedingly keen competition and sold at an advance on late rates! Porkers and stores also met with a keen demand at fully late rates. Slips r.nd Aveaners sold on n par with recent rates. Quotations: Heavy prime baeoners £4 to £4 ss; prime medium weight, baeoners £3 12s to £3 15s; light £3 to £3 7s. (id* heavy porkers £2 10s to. £2 14s; medium £1 15s *,o £1 17s 6d; light 30s 1 : choppers, heavy £3 12s (id to £4 6s; stores,, large £2 to £2 7s fid; slips £1 -,s to £1 12s (id; weaners 10s to 14s: small 7s to 9s.
