MONTHLY MEETING HELD MATTERS REGARDING AMBULANCE fl£ The monthly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board was held in tihe Borough Chambers yesterday, Mr J. W. Sumner presiding over Messrs R. W. Schofield, L,. Buddie, F. J. Burt,, F. Savage, C. A. Suckling ancl A. F. McGougan. The Chairman reported to the Board on a meeting of the Finance Committee,, which had come to an agreement with the St. John Ambulance Brigade regarding the driving of the recently acquired ambulance. The Brigade had agreed to be responsible for this between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. bill could not guarantee a driver lor the day. The matter of charges for the ambulance was discussed, said Mr Sumner, and bot'h the Committee and the Brigade thought it better to make inquiries on the procedure adopted in other districts. Continuing, the Chairman said that the Finance Committee had met at the hospital grounds on Wed nesday to inspect sites for a garage Cor the vehicle and after consideration had decided that t!he car shed used by the former matron, if extended six feet, would serve as temporary housing for the ambulance.
