when eggs are dear—try these recipes. FRUIT CAKE WITHOUT EGGS lib butter, Jib sugar, 1 tablespoon Golden Syrup, few drops essence of vanilla, lib flour, 2 heaped teaspoons Edmonds Calie Powder, 4oz. sultanas, 4oz. currants, 3oz. mixed peel (shredded), milk (about a cupful). Beat butter and sugar to a cream, add golden syrup and essence. Stir in flour and Cake Powder previously sifted, then mix all to a nice consistency with milk. Bake in a moderate oven 1J to 2 hours. This cake is improved by keeping a day or two. (No Baking Powder required.) CAKE POWDER BUNS 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 6oz. dripping or butter, 2 dessertspoons Edmonds Cake Powder, vn-? Put in dessertspoonfuls on cold greased tray and bake in hot oven for about 10 minutes. (No Baking Powder required.) KISSES (Eggless) 41b butter, 2 tablespoons hat water, % cup sugar, 1 cup flour, I cup coconut, 1 teaspoon Ednionus Cake Powder. Melt butter with hot water, mix into dry ingredients which have been previously mixed together. . Roll into balls, put on tray and flatten a little. Cook 15 minutes in a moderate oven. Put together with butter icing. (No Baking Powder required.) If you haven't yet 'tried Edmonds Cake Powder get a 6d tin from your grocer to-day.
