INTEREST IN SOLDIERS IFAREWELL DANCE FOR SECOND ECHELON MEN The Whakfiiano Sub-Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society is presenting a farewell dance to members of the Second Echelon in the Winter Show Hall on Wednesday,; March 20th. The proceeds from this function are to be devoted to the 'Sick and Wounded Fund and it is expected that this fact, apart from the valedictory nature of the function, will mean a large attendance. The 'Red Cross Society is doing .-splendid work and merits the fullest support from the public. The local committee is to be congratulated on its efforts for the Second Echelon men. The latter, together with their partners, will be the ..guests of the committee next Wed•jiesday
TANEATUA BRANCH
ARRANGEMENTS FOR FAREWELL Arrangements for a farewell to the local boys who will, leave with the Second Echelon were finalised at a committee meeting of the Tancatua Branch of the Red Cross Society. The farewell will take the form of a social and dance ro be held in the Taneatua Hall on Easter Monday night. The function will be run on the same lines as the first, each soldier receiving an appropriate gift. A Sewing Circle has been formed in Taneatua and an endeavour is being made to fulfil the requirements of headciuarters as rapidly as possible.
