PARTY FUN
SENTENCE BUILDING Here iis a new party game from America for those good with words; Give your guests scissors and an old newspaper or magazine. Ask each to provide himself with a clipping containing exactly 25 words. It is not necessary that the clippings contain complete sentences; merely see that the word count is correct. If you prefer, may prepare these in advance, but iti is more fun to let tthe guests make their own choice. I When all are ready, arrange players in a circle, and equip them with pencils. Have one player begin the game by mentioning some word in his clipping which could conceivably begin a sentence. The person next to Jiitti should add a suitable word from his clipping, each person adding one word, if he can, to build a sentence. As a word is used it is crossed off that person's list, and each tj-i'es to be the first one to use up all of his words. Sentences may be ended and new 5 ones begun as often as wished, and players may skip their turns when they have no suitable words in their clippings. However, if any player is unable to satisfy his companions that the word he gives can gramatically be used in the place given, he must retrieve that word and lose both that turn and his next one.
