Because he was wearing a shortsleeved Palm Beach suit made for semi-tropical climates, Mr Raymond Beatty, well-known Sydney singer, was asked to leave the dining room of a Sydney hotel. Mr Beatty, who had sat down at a table waiting for his order to be token, was approached by a waiter who asked him if he would mind being served outside. "We have a certain, standard of dress," fhe waiter explained. Mr Beatty was forced to have his meal outside in the lounge. He bought the suit, which is grey and is smartly tailored,, because he believes the conventional suit is absurd for Sydney's summer.;
