WHERE IS THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?

The commencement of the third month of an important and in all probability an extremely busy year, finds Whakatane still minus its Chamber of Commerce. As far as can, be ascertained there are small prospects of a meeting being called before the Centennial Celebrations, when such a body could have performed invaluable services, and have assisted towards the combination of all sections in one of the finest parades and pageants in the Bay of Plenty. The year 1940 will be one of strain, anxiety and endless appeals. There are a great number in this town eagerly awaiting the move which will resurrect and successfully re-launch the original Chamber of Commerce.
