FAREWELL TO TROOPS

LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS PROCEEDING DATE AS YET UNKNOWN

The greatest difficulty confronting the soldiers farewell committee in connection with the local proceedings to be staged during the forthcoming final leave, is the uncertainty of the date. At a meeting of the committee last Wednesday evening it was decided to adhere to the original programme and hold a parade through the town, and farewell cere mony at the Winter Show buildings A further complication is however the chances of the proceedings coinciding with the Centennial arrangements for March 16th„ as it appears fairly certain that leave will be granted about that time. The committee however will go into the matter when the date is known, and is will endeavour to remove any chance of a clash of interests.
