ROD AND GUN
CLAY BIRD SHOOT | EVENTS AT OPOTIKI The Opotiki Rocl and Gun Club held a very Fuccessful shoot recently at the Club grounds, Hukuwai. The two principal events, the Reidrubber Cup and the Black and White Cup, attracted a large number of entrants. Considering the tricky wind that was blowing, some excellent shooting was witnessed. Six bird eye-opener: J. Ross, ,T. McCaldon, W. Semmens and N. Semmens shot the possible and divided the sweepstake. Five track system, 10 birds.- W. Butler. E. Pratt, J. Ross, T. Blacl< each shot 9 birds and divided the sweepstake. Black and White Cup, 10 birds (15 entrants): W. Butler shot the only possible and Avon the cup and first money. J. Ross,, R. C. Butler. W. Semmens, E. Torrie each shot 9 birds and divided seond money. Rcid-rubber Cup, 15 birds, 14 entrants): J. Ross and T. Black each shot 14 birds, and in the shoot off Ross Avon on the second bird. Leo Parkinson and R. C. Butler divided second money. Frank Reynolds Trophy, 8 birds (13 entrants): J. Brice shot the only possible and Avon the trophy and first money. W. Butler. J. Aplin, N". Semmens, W. Semmens. .T. Ross, E. Pratt and T. Blacn divided second money. Double rise. J3 pair: R. C. Butler and J. A. Fleming each shot seven birds and divided the sweepstake. At the conclusion of the shoot. Mr J. McCaldon thanked all the members for their attendance, making special reference to Messrs Walter and Norman Summons, sportsuen f'-om !lie ' neighboiving club, "anentua.
