LYCEUM CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD ' fThe annual general meeting of the Lyceum Club was held on Thursday afternoon, and there was a good attendance of members. The president (Mrs Pearce) the report which revealed the club to be in a very satisfactory financial position and to have had a very successful social year, the different Circles, namely Drama, Physical Culture, Bridge and Mah Jofng having proved most enjoyable. Election of officers was as follows—President: Mrs Pearce (reelected); vice-president- Mrs S. Spence; secretary: Miss N. H. Allan; committee: Mesdames Thomas, E. Armstrong, Southey, H. Armstrong, Boswell, Farmer, Misses Whiteside and Ngatai. Eight new members were elected, bringing the club membership W,p to 78. : New circles formed were: The Musical Circle, Mrs Boswell and Mrs Drube convener. Gardening Circle, Mrs Morice„ convener. I; 1 addition are the Drama Circle (Mrs Armstrong convener, and Bridge and Mah Jong Circles (Mrs W. Brid ger, convener). These will carry on as before.
