CENTENNIAL CHOIR
FIRST PRACTICE HELD The choir formed to take part In the Centennial Choir competition held its first rehearsal on Wednesday in the Presbyterian Hall, Domain Road. There was quite a satisfactoryattendance and the choir promises to make excellent progress under the able conductorship of Mr H. Mayo As there were several vacancies owing to members having other engagements, the conductor made an appeal that all members make a special effort to attend practice as the time was short for rehearsals before tlie Centennial competition in Auckland on April 13. There are still openings for good part singers to make the choir's full complement, and singers interested are invited to attend next AVednesday evening l at § o'clock a£ the Presbyterian Hall. It is to be hoped that this appeal will receive the full support it deserves and that a representatives choir from this district will participate with credit in the v Centennial competitions.
