SUDDEN DEATH
OCCURRENCE AT TE TEKO
INQUEST ADJOURNED
Mr G. A. Brabant.. J.P.., coroner, Oiearcl evidence concerning the sud<den death of a native woman/Mrs Rangi Paea Moko, who collapsed rand died at her home, Okahu, Te "Teko, last Tuesday night. Horo Moko, husband of the deceas- • ed, said she liad always seemed to be in fair health and had never com plained of illness. At about 9.15 ■p.m. on Tuesday, when in bed, deceased asked him to open the win•dows and help her. She was trying "to cough but could not. She died in 'his arms. Witness said he tried to bring her round but she would not respond. 'Some neighbours tried artificial reaspiration but to no purpose. It "was vdecided that a doctor could do nothing and .he was advised of the deaiSnf-ext morning. "My* wife had nothing to eat before she went to bed and ate the rsame food as the children at 6 p.m. 'The meal consisted of potatoes, sausages, bread and butter and tea. "Neither he aaor the children had suffered 111-effects. Margaret Anderson, a native, of Te Teko, said deceased had never *been ill as far as she knew. Witness went over to Moko's residence when informed that Mrs Moko was ill, but found * her quite dead. Evidence that he had made inquiries the next day was given by Constable F. M. Fuller, who said he had found that deceased had always enjoyed fair health. The inquest was adjourned.
