Mrs F, Darvill, of Lovelock Street, has returned home after an extensive tour of the North Island. Mr Frank Craig, of Hamilton, left this morning after spending some days in Whakatane. Mr. R. M. Hardy, of Tauranga, has been visiting friends in Whakatane. The Rev. 11. J. Lilburn, formerly of Whakatane, was tendered a welcome social on Tuesday night by the congregation of the St. James' Church, Auckland. Mr R. N, Hultquist, brother of Mr A. G. Hultquist, M,P.„ has now been promoted to Sergeant in the N.Z. F. Engineers at Papakura camp. Mr A. G. Hultquist has com-; pleted a pourse of instruction as an N.C.O. and a special course in signalling. He is now an Officer-Cadet in the Advanced Training Corps at Army School, Trentham, and expects to go through another and more advanced course in signalling (alj arms) before he leaves New Zealand. In a letter to this paper he mentions he is very fit and enjoying camp life.
