OPOTIKI PIG SALE
BACONERS TO £3 18s Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having.. held their usual fortnightly pig sale at Opotiki on Monday Avhen a full yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Baconers, showing an improvement in quality, predominated. There . was a large and representative attendance, with the usual bench of export buyers and bacon curers. Competition wasexceedingly keen for heavy and medium weight baconers, whilst porkers and buttermilk pigs attracted considerable attention. Values for baconers were slightly in excess of recent rates. Buttermilk and store pigs also sold at slightly advanced rates. Weancrs, of which there was; a small yarding, showed a slight decline. Realisations; Prime heavy weight baconers £3 15s to £3 18s, medium weight baconers £3 12s 6d to £3 145,. light baconers £3 to ;£3 Bs, heavy porkers £2 15s to £2 17s 6d, light! and medium porkers £2 5s to £2 10s* buttermilk pigs £2 15s to £3, store pigs £2 to £2 10s, slips £1 10s to £1 15s, weaners 15s to £1, choppers,, heavy £3 18s to £4, choppers, light £2 15s to £3, choppers, medium £3t 10s to £3 15s. •
