OHOPE SWIMMING POOL
Sir.—l feel I cannot • let the observations expressed by Advance Ohope pass without protest. Your correspondent rather belies his arguments when, he advocates delay in. saving lives from drowning until after the war, which may last goodness knows how long. The war to my mind makes the reason for the swimming pool all the more urgent, to save the younger generation. The same argument applies, to another speakers remarks at the meeting. viz., if we have hundreds to spare our duty is to give to the war fund." Sir, the amount collected, over £80, speaks for itself, showing that the public recognise the necessity for saving the lives we have left, so send or take your contributions to the Bank of New Zealand. Yours etc., G. MAITY.-
