Rotorua, claiming an easy victory by 2:51 runs to 04. r .riie local eleven played definitely below expectations, their fielding and batting being surprisingly poor. Rotorua batted first, occupied the wicket for over 3% hours, Baylev (71) being chief scorer. Coutts, lour wickets for 72 and Gillam three for 10 were the most successful bowlers. Of llangitaiki's total of (jl, four batsmen contributed 02, Ewert claim ing the remarkable figures of five wickets for three runs off five overs (four maidens). CLARKE CUP MATCHES PAROA AND HILLCREST SUCCESSFUL The disgraceful state of the Domain, which resembled a hay paddock. was responsible for low scores in both Clarke Cup games on Saturday. The grass was at least a foot long and with a heavy shower prior to the game, conditions were anything but ideal for the fieldsmen.
