BOARD USERS INJURED
DIFFICULTIES OF LEARNERS'
That it is possible to receive pain'ful and sometimes severe injuries •from surf boards, lias been brought I'orcibSy home to many a swimmer at Ohope Beach recently. One young lady who was tossed by a wave over the board was so badly injured on the leg that she was removed to hospital. Another was struck in the mouth and lost several teeth, there are numerous reports of minor injuries. The caiise of these accidents is no •doubt the broken weather and the •cross-seas which have been running. A smooth even surl docs not picscnt the same dangers but learners a,ic nevertheless warned to be caretul when handling a board even in comparatively calm weather.
