Revival of Virtue. The fact ihat virtue is its own reward and nothing else but that, has been borne home to a Rotorua resident who, during the New Year holiday, found a lost bicycle and advertised the fact in the expectation that the owner, on claiming the cycle, would reimburse him of the cost of the advertisement. He had a large number of applicants for the cycle, but none of them proved to be the owner. He was still awaiting the successful claimant when the cycle was removed during the night from his house, and lie was left with no cycle, a number of people who could not understand why he hadn't one when lie had advertised, and an account for a "found" advertisement. Opotiki's Iron Lung. It now appears that, although the Opotiki Hospital Board decided at a meeting that one of the iron lungs offered by Lord Nuffield would probably never lie required in Opotiki, and that anyone requiring treatment could be sent to a nearby hospital equipped with an iron lung, the board's decision was later reversed. An urgent communication was received by the board, asking for an immediate reply, and the chairman, Mr S. Maxwell, forwarded a reply accepting the offer, this decision being later confirmed by the board. The iron lung is now at the local hospital, and Avill be properly installed as soon as possible. It is pleasing to know that the shipping companies landed the machine in Opotiki without cost, the only charge, apparently, being the customs duty. It is to be hoped that this also, will eventually be remitted. Stout men, note! Man loses 151bs in 2 weeks with Bonkora. Obtainable F. G. Macklow, Chemist, Whaka. tane.
